Our core curriculum for English Language Arts and Mathematics originates in the Common Core aligned modules from EngageNY. Making Meaning Information
We use this reading program in grades K-6 to build student reading comprehension strategies and encourage student academic partnerships and language.
The program includes 20-30 carefully selected nonfiction and fiction read-aloud trade books that support the teaching of nine different comprehension strategies. The program includes:
- Rigorous reading comprehension lessons developed intentionally to build consistency within and across units and grade levels
- Challenges to read closely and critically, weigh evidence, and form opinions
- Chances for students to read, reread, and reflect on their understanding
- Opportunities to refer to texts and cite textual evidence to support their thinking

Science 21 Information
SCIENCE 21 is an inquiry-based elementary school science program, developed “by teachers for teachers,” that includes comprehensive curriculum guides, materials kits, and staff development services. As an inquiry-based program, students study the natural world and construct meaning and explanations based upon evidence that they derive from their activities.
Discovery Education Information
A teacher and student learning resource that we have recently incorporated into the teaching and learning in the district. Discovery Education accelerates school districts' digital transition through comprehensive standards-based content, professional development, formative assessment, and community engagement proven to positively impact student achievement. We have both the digital streaming service and “techbooks” for middle school and high school science, mathematics, and social studies curriculum.
